VPNC error, tunneling through TCP not supported
I am trying to setup VPNC on Ubuntu 8.04 to work on a Cisco VPN that is setup at my office. I installed VPNC and then imported the pcf file and get this message:

well it's excatly as it says, no ipsec over tcp. it does support over udp and also Nat-t so just change it to use those instead, although nat-t is implicit in there being a different between the peer ip you present to the remote site in terms if ip source and your reported own source address, so should attempt this automatically if it will be acceptable.

How would I change it to use UDP? I do not see that as an option anywhere?

Which VPNC package, & which ver. of it? -- I'm running MEPIS & KDE, so I have kvpnc & openvpn available, do you have something else in Gnome that you are using?

I was using VPNC ver 0.5.1r275-1 from the Ubuntu 8.10 repository. It installed with Gnome's nm-applet 0.6.6. Acid_kewpie wrote:

Thanks for answering the version Q.
Maybe I should have asked: "WTF is VPNC -- I have never heard of a package called that. :)", but I fear even w/ added smilies it would sound too rude. So . . . Is there a Gnome package called "VPNC"? I have never heard of it & the reference to it confused me. |
