volume of video sound

is there a way to turn up just the volume on a video for instance if im watchign a dvd on xine and i want to turn it up but i dont want to turn up everthing else on my computer

Yeah....there's an excellent way to do that.....I've hooked up my Sony Music System to my PC..so whenever I need to increase the audio volume, I use my Music System's Remote Control, leaving volume settings on my PC as they are...you can also do that....then u wont need to fiddle with volume settings anymore...

what i meant was increase only the volume of the video im watching, for instance when i have gaim running it makes some noises occasionaly and i want those to stay the same level but i want the volume of the video increased.
