VNC session conflict

I leave my user jameson logged onto X, and when I'm elsewhere and try to logon via VNC, it says that jameson is already logged in, and I can either login anyway, or abort the attempt.

Ideally, I would be able to login to a framebuffer or something, so as not to disrupt the current session.

Is creating another user account for remote use the best way around this problem?

The problem is that certain files will be open by both X sessions. You can do it (I have) without problems, but it has a POTENTIAL for problems. I would either login anyway, or attach the VNC session to your existing X session.
