VNC question
How can I get the desktop icons to display on the remote system in VNC? I would also like access the start menu.

1)edit the vnc startup script (e.g. .vnc/xstartup)
2)change twm in the last line to Gnome-session or startkde 3)save 4)type vncserver -kill :(number of session - usually 0 or 1) 5)start the vncserver again on the linux box. when you remote this time, it will load the KDE GUI. Hope this helps PLS NOTE: I FOUND THIS TIP FROM SOMEWHERE IN LQ |
how do I start blue curve isntead of gnome or kde?

bluecurve is a theme, not a window manager.
