VNC on different port (80)

Hi,

I want to take remote desktop of my home PC from my Office. I've installed VNC server in my PC. But the office firewall blocks the ports used by VNC.

I'm want to configure the VNC ports to 80, which is not blocked in my office.

Also i tried the following to change the ports, but didn't work

Server: Xvnc -rfbport 80
Client: vncviewer Server_IP_address :-5820

here 5820 = 80 (5900-80)
VNC uses 5500, 5800 and 5900 ports.
But i want VNC to use port 80.

Please guide me step by step to configure the VNC properly, including Port forwarding in my router/switch.

Thanks in advance.

As a "normal" user, you can't start VNC to listen on port 80. Only root can do that.

Use SSH, and tunnel VNC over that.

Cheers.
