VNC as user not root? fedora 17
Alright well I've been around a bunch of threads, on a bunch of sites.. here are a few
http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=272137 http://www.tightvnc.com/vncserver.1.php http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/...ux.php#systemd http://www.g-loaded.eu/2005/11/10/co...ver-in-fedora/ anyways, with "vncserver" command I can get a vnc running as root fine, and the geometry stuff, depth etc doesn't work at all.. but that's not my problem when I try to run as any user (any user.. any of them) I just get a black screen, I assume this was permission error/problem? I'm trying to get this to work on a VM just for testing it out, I'm doing a fresh install of fedora if anyone can help me out exactly how to do this, it's fedora 17 with gnome if that matters.. thanks for any help. seems like I need to give permissions to allow users to start X, no idea how to.. anyone got a few commands? thanks |
Does the vnc file for the user specify starting X, or anything. You might simply be lacing the command in the .vnc file in their home directory.
