VMWare Workstation 6, Slackware 12.0, any-any-113 update, libgnomevfs-2 missing?

Hello,

I have a Slackware 12.0 install on my laptop, and I am trying to get VMWare Workstation 6 installed so that I can run Pro/E on windows.

I had VMWare installed and running for quite some time on Slack 11.0, it would seem the 11.0->12.0 upgrade has caused this problem.

The error I get when calling 'vmware', is:
/usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware: error while loading shared libraries: libgnomevfs-2.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I have attempted to locate how to install libgnomevfs and that came to no avail, I found a source package to compile the library but it has a large amount of dependencies (I would assume gnome packages), considering I don't use gnome and never have I can't imagine that the problem is as 'simple' as needing libgnomevfs.

I tried updating to version 6 (I was running 5.5), I also uninstalled VMWare and did a clean install with version 6 and ran the any-any-update113.

I can't seem to find anyone else with my same problem, or a solution to a similar problem which might help me gain way. If you have any ideas on a solution, I would greatly appreciate your help.

Thanks!
- Andrew

Vmware has a great forum with many resolved issues, have you checked it out?. Something tells me there is probably a thread there with the answer.

I did search those forums, but could not find anyone else with my issue. I will post my question there (didn't even consider that yesterday...Duh). Thank you.
