Vmware tools question


for some reason my mouse works then it goes as soon as I boot up the gui...

anyone?

like I type startx and suddenly bam no mouse... this only started happening after I installed vmware tools.. i'm wondering if anyone else has had similar problems and could help me out...

I'm confused. Do you mean that you have Linux in VMWare and you lose the mouse in Windows when you startx in VMWare? Your post is not very clear. Have you tried hitting Ctrl+Alt?

no .. my mouse just doesn't move after I type startx.. when it boots into the gui part no mouse in vmware I can release it and use it in windows still...

You installed VMWare toold ON your linux box?

VMWare tools is suposed to be installed on the virual machine, it gives better support for the VMware devices.

okay I am running win xp on here and popped vmware on ... running red hat 9... I installed tools to change the res and no my mouse isn't working as soon as I startx.. though I can release it out of vmware and use it
