Vmware+red Hat

Hello everyone...i have one question and i think it's pretty simple. Does anyone know how much ram is needed to run a RED HAT distribution with minimum requirements (no X window)? I want to use it with vmware and want to see how much of my resources it will take up

Hi,

if you intend to install Vmware on windows and to install RedHat Linux in a virtual machine, I 'd propose to try it out. You always can edit your virtual machine settings by
selecting "edit virtual machine settings" and entering a new value for Memory.

However, your basis operating system has to share its RAM with the virtual machines.
So if you have few RAM all is very slow.

I run a RH9 VM on a Windows 2000 host. 1GB of RAM is good. You can allocate 512MB (more or less - can be changed on the fly) to run both the host and guest operating systems without performance issues.
