vmware questions

Good evening. I've got version 3.1.1 of Vmware and I've got a few questions. First off how do I get my externel firewire drive working with it? Second, When I start Vmware I get a notification that says XFree86 DGA extension noty present and that it failed to initialize. Is this something important? the help file isn't much help . Third, is there a way to make my cd-rw work under vmware? I think that's all of my questions for tonight Thanks for any info you can give.
