Vmware on Redhat Enterprise Linux 4
Hi Guys,
Does anyone encountered issues or bugs in vmware running on Redhat Linux Enterprise 4? Because i'm planning to setup a linux virtual machines as a backup with my real servers, and maybe in the future, i'll be implementing LVS and HA with this server.
Any one there would like to share some info's on vmware running in redhat? And what would be the best product i'll purchase between vmware esx and workstation?
BTW most of my servers are running in apache tomkat.
Regards,
gurl4sh25

First try vmware out and create a virtual system or two. Download the free VMware-server files and install, you will want the latest version of the vmware-any-any-update also;
http://www.vmware.com/download/
http://platan.vc.cvut.cz/ftp/pub/vmware/
The vmware-server as well as the vmware-player are free.
Depending on the system(s) hosting the virtual system(s), vmware esx is the better choice in most cases.

Does any one have tried LVS and HA on vmware server/workstation? Any comments would be appreciated, thanks

Your Welcome, I know of no network connection limitations other then that imposed by the guest OS.
