VMWare and Ghost
Hi all -
I've got VMWare 4.5.1 running on my linux box, with an XP virtual machine. I'm trying to enlarge the virtual disk that XP is running on. I created a new virtual disk with a larger size in my XP virtual machine, booted XP with a Norton Ghost boot floppy, set it to do a disk-to-disk copy. It starts copying and everything is cool, then it hangs. I've run it 4 times now and it gets a little farther every time, but it's only making it about 25% of the way through the copy. Partitions are FAT32, and I'm going from 4gb to 40gb. I get no errors of any kind. I tried closing all other programs running on the Linux box, so the only thing running is VMWare. Any ideas? The only other thing I can think of is that the source virtual disk is of type "compact" and the new one is "pre-allocated." They're both set as IDE. [edit] I tried this again with both of type "compact" - still no luck. :( Arg! Help! So much for this being a simple little project... |
Anybody? :(
