vm shutting down processes

I have a server running redhat 6.2
After the server is running for a couple days almost all of the memory is used up and Linux VM starts killing processes.
After a reboot the server is fine until 2-3 days pass.
I updated the kernel thinking that would help but it didn't.
So I guess one of the applications running on the server has a memory leak that I am unaware of.

I searched the web but couldn't find any info about the applications that are running on the server having memory leaks.

Is there a tool or procedure that would allow me to figure what the problem is? Any information that could help me resolve this issue would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry if the question appears to be stupid,
but have you tried top, sorting processes
by memory usage rather than CPU?

Cheers,
Tink

Okay so I used top and sorted by memory usage. It seems that there are a bunch of apache httpd child processes that never were killed.
