VLC in MINT 7

When videos with VLC in Linux Mint 7, how do I put the XVideo output and the user inface in one piece? I basically have the XVideo ouput displaying the video in one window while all in the controls are apart in the typical VLC window.

In Windows, VLC opens out in 1 single window, not two...Why is this happening in Mint?

Thanks a lot.

Hey cn_habs.

What version of VLC are you using? I think any version before either 1 or 1.0.2 will do that (at least in my experience it did)

Separate video window

In Ubuntu 9.04, the video is always rendered in a separate window. This does not affect other Ubuntu releases. Update to Ubuntu 9.10 if this is a problem for you.
