Vista + Ubuntu dual boot

I have linux and 64vista set to dual boot on my laptop, when i put linux on my laptop i spent about a week pimping it out and configuring all the stuff i want. Well not suprized at all but over time my vista install has gotten slower and well you know how your preformance expires after a few months with windows....
My question is... Can I reformat and do a clean install of windows without affecting my dual boot or affecting my ubuntu install
thanx in advance

you should be able to install vista again, using the same partition, only thing that will get overwritten is your GRUB/LILO boot loader, since vista will reinstall/overwrite the MBR. You'll need to use your distro's boot disk, or knoppix disc, or some rescue disc to reactivate grub/lilo, by reinstalling it.

**EDIT** Offcourse what i meant is REFORMAT the partition vista is on, and use that same space to reinstall Vista **/EDIT**
