Vista NTFS Permissions Problems
So I got a new usb hard drive while I was running vista and formated it to NTFS. This worked fine, but when I installed Ubuntu and got read/write up and running on NTFS partitions, a large problem surfaced. I am unable to write to my newly formated NTFS drive. My old NTFS drives work fine, formatted under winXP. I have a feeling it has to do with vistas expanded permissions system, as I can read data off the drive fine. If anyone knows of a way to set the permissions so linux can write, or just blow away vista permission data without losing data on the drive, that would be great. I really don't want to have to boot into vista just to copy a couple of files to my drive.
Let me know what you think of this issue. Also, I can read and write to the root Vista partition (install partition) just fine. It seems to be an issue only with drives formatted using vista.
Thank you,
