virtuoso-t gone bonkers

virtuoso-t is going crazy, eating as much as 90-100% of my CPU time. It seems to get set off by Opera and Youtube but I'm not sure. Rebooting does NOT fix it, it comes back up gobbling CPU cycles. Another old thread suggests it can be disabled and if someone can tell me how to do that, please do.

Okay, it's been a long time but I finally discovered the source of the problem. There is something called "Desktop search File Indexing" and it is what goes by the name "virtuoso-t." I don't really know what it does, I have suspended it without any noticeable problem. It's part of Nepomuk, whatever that is.
