virtual win98 won't install sound hardware

My VMware win98 virtual machine says there's no driver for the audio hardware. It doesn't say anything about the hardware being emulated, except that it is /dev/dsp. I guess the device is correct.
Win98 control panel says "Unknow Audio PCI device" or whatever...
What can I do?
