Virtual Box. Removing a shared folder inside virtual xp.

[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
Hello! I am just trying virtual box running on Ubuntu 7.04. I then installed WinXP in a virtual machine. After that I wanted to share two folders to be able to access them from Ubuntu and from XP.

Instead of that and by mistake (really tired when I get home), I shared twice the same folder in WinXP with "net use". So, I have two shared network units which access the same folder. The problem is that I can't find the way to remove any of those folders (just to keep one of them). I thought it was just a matter of pressing delete or something like that but it is not.

I will really appreciate if you could help me removing (deleting) one of the units (let's say unit f from my virtual windows.

Thank you,
Glore2002.-

I do not use shared but it appears from the manual...
you have to install and reboot the guest additions cdiso inside xp and do the same for linux.

2) but you also need to do this command
VBoxManage sharedfolder remove <vmname>|<uuid>
-name <name> [-transient]

pdf ref page 49/50

good luck

In Windows XP, you add a shared resource using a command in the format:
net use x: \\vboxsvr\sharename

You remove the shared resource using a command in the format:
net use x: \\vboxsvr\sharename /delete
