VIM via remote SSH connection causes seg fault
Have a brand spanking new RH9 install (2 weeks old, that is), up2dated regularly. Here's the prob:
Using vim via PuTTY in house via a telnet or SSH connection to edit a SPECIFIC perl script is 100% OK, but doing the same (SSH!) from home via the Internet causes a segmentation fault in the editor. Using emacs or Tera Term is fine though, as is editing other scripts. I know the script isn't corrupt in any way 'cos it works 100% as expected. Seems to be a vim/PuTTY(/NAT routing?) issue and the only possible clue is it that it seems to occur when scrolling over lines >80 chars in length. Any thoughts appreciated--it's more annoying that anything so don't spend hours doing research on my behalf ;) On a separate note, I kinda like PuTTY, but I'd like to know what you're using (commercial or otherwise). Something more 'Windowsey' would be nice. Thanks NK |

Does SSH 1 & 2, telnet, and some other stuff I don't use, so I'm not in a postition to mention them (means I can't remember what they are). |
