it's possible i haven't understood the problem correctly, but if your print-server is also running linux and exporting the printer as a cups-share, all print jobs are viewable over the net, you don't even need an ssh connection. cups also has an internet page. if you have an apache-server running on the print-server, this is usually <name_of_machine>.631 (by default only viewable from localhost, but this is a standard configuration under /etc/cups/cupsd.conf (if that's where your cupsd.conf happens to be).
