Videos problems with vidix! Help!

I have asked this question on several forums but havent got a answer at all. This is getting frustrating.

1.I use tv-out in Linux. It works fine with xine. I can watch videos and all, but it uses a crappy video driver and causes tearing and artifacts in the picture. So, i downloaded and installed Vidix. Now, this is the issue: While using vidix, everything looks fine on my monitor, but on my TV, the xine window is just pink. There is no picture, just a pink box where the movie should be displayed in xine. Does anyone know how to correct this? Or, can anyone give me a tip about a different good video driver that will remove tearing and artifacts?

2.When i used tv-out with suse, i ran the videos in a fb-console with the vidixfb driver. Worked very good. But fbxine cant find vidixfb or any other driver. If the above issue cant be solved, where can i download the vidixfb driver? Cause it does not seem to be included in the vidix package i downloaded.

Please help me with this. I really want tv-out to work with a good driver such as vidix.

I am using Ubuntu hoary and fglrx in X. fglrx is the accelerated driver for ATI cards. I have an ATI Radeon 9600XT graphic card.

Thanks for your time.
