Question video screen split on new install

I am trying to do a new install of Redhat 9.0. I boot w/disc #1, I enter for graphical mode, my computer does a system check, I skip the media test, system says running anaconda system installer, probes and locates video card and monitor type and then goes to what appears to be a welcome to redhat linux page, but in 6 vision. The background appears that the left of the display is on the right and the right is at the left of screen. With what appears to be a welcome overlay with 2 or possibly 3 blurred instructions. I hope I have described this where someone can understand. Please let me know what to do? The computer is an old Shuttle hot-557 board w/ trident generic video.
