video player in linux 5.3

hi

i installed redhat linux 5.3 in my compaq CQ40-330TU,
i have been trying to install video player to prepare for my redhat exam but not able to install.

please help me how to install video player ,
i tried mplayer, vlcplayer, totem through rpm -ivh command but not successed, every time it's showing some missing dependencies,

As i am new to redhat 5.3,i am downloading video player rpm's,copying those in to penstick and try to install through rpm -ivh path (pendrive).

Thanks & Regards

well then you get the dependencies and install them too. If you're going to pass ANY RedHat exame you certainly need to understand that little bit.

As you have seen, rpm does not handle dependencies. Yum does handle dependencies and starting with RHEL5.0(Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.0) yum is the default package manager.

You also want to make sure people understand you are talking about RHEL5.4(current) and not RH5 (lost support in 2000?). They are two totally different products.
