video player
i am running mandrake 9.1
and i am looking for a video player that can run easily on the mandrake platform |
mplayer - http://www.mplayerhq.hu
|
Mplayer is the best video player in Linux by far. You can get it at http://www.mplayerhq.hu/homepage/design6/news.html
It compiles perfectly on my Mandrake 9.1 box and has played every video I've ever tried to watch perfectly. |
i would call it xine.
http://xinehq.de |
i am trying to install the mplayerhq and it is telling me it cant find the help/help-mp-en
file and it is there what should i do |
Get xine ...... I guess thats really cool... plays a wide range of media formats....
Visit the xinehq site mentioned above.. download the files u might need... if U want to ask me wat I did to get it working perfectly well, I got these files... libxine1-1_cvs-030912.i686.rpm libdvdread-0.9.4-ogle1.i386.rpm libdvdnav-0.1.9.tar.gz libdvdcss-1.2.6-2.network.i386.rpm w32codec-0.52-1.i386.rpm xine-ui-0.9.22cvs-030911.i586.rpm U can get these files by following the links in the home page... install them... and it works without ne mess.... Cheers..... |
mplayer installation:
./configure make make install there are many path options in ./configure --help try to set the path it didn't find i think mplayer is the boss |
this may sound a little stupid but it cannot find the option to tell it were help/help_mp-en.h is
and the other media player i need to put something in /.../multimedia which is a directory that does not exist how do i get the directory |
