Question video editor

I am most likely going to install mandrake on my brother's school laptop, and he needs a video editor program. he has no experience with linux, so the program needs to be rather intuitive to learn the basic stuff with. a program that requires weeks of practice before it can be used is out of the question.

the laptop is about 4-5 years old, 700MHz, 128MB, 7GB disk.

Is there a linux program that can do the job, or should I just reinstall win98, which is currently on it?

Mandrake (probably) has Enlive on one of the cd's.
There is also Lives, Cinelerra, CinePaint and one or two others.
All of which are fairly straight forward to install on Mandrake.
