video editing software, free or commercial

If anyone knows of some excellent video editing software for Linux on par with the ULead Photo Studio line of products for editing MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 files, with support for writing DVDs or VCD's, please chime in here.

I'm willing to consider commercialware as well as freeware.

There is the FilmGIMP. I've never used it but I know it has been used in movies like scooby doo, Harry Potter and Stuart Little.

You might give that a shot.

It used to be called Broadcast2000, but now it goes by 'Cinelerra'.
