I've got Linux installed on another computer. It's the sole OS. It seems to be running just fine (except for networking... got a friggin' winmodem!!)

The question I have regards the video card. The problem is, I'm not exactly sure what type of video card I have. The front of the computer (it's an emachine) has a sticker proclaiming the video card is:

"3D AGP Graphics 4MB Video"

Windows claimed I had a "Rage Pro Turbo AGP 2x (English)"

During installation (XF86Setup) I can chose between AGP 2D/3D V. 1N, AGP-740D and ATI Mach64 Rage Pro. The AGP seems to work fine, but I can't try the ATI Mach because I don't have the Mach64 server installed (just SVGA and VGA16).

So I really have two questions:
1. Do I have the right video card installed?

2. The Linux HOWTO didn't help me much, but it seemed to imply that AGP was a technology and not a brand name... is that correct?

1. well, windows is usually pretty good at detecting your hardware, as most is supported under it.. most likely you have what windows detected... sounds like you selected generic drivers that work with your card to work in linux.. if its working.. i would just leave it be..

2. umm.. yeah, AGP is a technology.. and its not a brand name.. stands for accelerated graphics port.
