VI vs. Emacs

/me grins =P

For me, its all about what youre doing. If its long (A book), emacs. If its just a quick change (Config file), vi.

lets hear it.

Well, IMHO nano is easier to use than either of them... but I'm not that acustomed to emacs, and I haven't tried vi

There is nothing left to argue about. The fabulous e3 editor

http://freshmeat.net/projects/e3/

will emulate both vi and emacs, as well as WordStar and a couple of others and is only a 7K binary (with no library dependencies). It's so small, if you forget where it is on your hard disk, you will never find it again.
