vi showing all text in red reverse video


if I use vi as root everything is shown in reddybrown reverse video, I venot idea what ive done to it and its ok for normal user.

Look if there is a /root/.vimrc file. This may be the cause of the problem. If there is, rename it to something else, or move it to a subdirectory, and start up vi.

yes, there was a .viminfo file, problem solved

But what was it trying to do for me ?
