using wine with ntfs

im trying to run starcraft using wine... here's how im trying to do it.
firstly, i have a cracked version of starcraft and brood war on my ntfs (windows 2000) drive courtesy of www.gamecopyworld.com . This no cd crack allows it to not use the cd and have sound... it works without fail on my ntfs drive.

in order to start starcraft i must run a program called SLOADER this brings up a screen with 2 buttons (Single Player and Multilayer) the single player button, when pushed is supposed to launch starcraft. When i load the SLOADER program on linux using wine the SLOADER window aforementioned does launch but when i push the singlepalyer button an error dialog pops up saying something like file doesn't exist.

when i try to use starcraft the old fashioned way without using the crack an error message says that it cannot find storm.dll any help would be appreciated.

wine commands i use (shortcuts are inserted in the root directory to there corresponding programs) while in the root directory

wine SLOADER.exe and
wine starcraft.exe

This looks like a WINE problem, not an NTFS-related problem. WINE doesn't give a rodent's backside where it gets the executables from, as long as the kernel has no problems reading the files, WINE is happy. Also note that some Windoze games may require write access to your NTFS partition, and Linux mounts NTFS partitions as read-only by default (NTFS write support is experimental at this point).

Note that WINE is being developed right now (i.e. it's a beta, maybe even alpha), so don't expect a Windoze game to run on it out of the box. You may have to do some research first. I suggest you start here.
