Hey Cyb3r.Kn!ght,

using WINE does not guarantee every windows based app will work 100% off of linux. It all depends which app, the version and if its supported.

Generally, if i want to run a windows app under linux i just do a little bit of research and see if others have attempted the installation. 9/10 times you will get the exact info you need.

A good place to start to see if your app is supported is by going on the WineHQ database: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManage...Ascending=true

Or, you can just run a windows virtual machine using VirtualBox which is fully supported under linux.

One thing --- linux OS's really DISLIKE having programs ran from the Desktop
Linux is not Windows

also using wine you start wine THEN in wine you install the program using the windows "setup.exe " or what ever it is called
and it will install it to the "wine" C drive( " /home/youruser/.wine/drive_c/Program Files (x86) ")

and i DO recommend the experimental QT4 gui for wine ( Q4wine)

but not all windows programs will work
some will also NEED you to hack the wine version of the windows system registry using " regedit"
the same regedit as is on windows

also you WILL 99.9% NEED to have a windows install handy
you will likely need some dll's off it

I use wine to install a program or I just double click on the windows installer.
