Using Torrent Software


HI,

My place has been setup with ReadHat Linux as Server and Windows as Clients.
I am trying to use Torrent Software on windows(BitTorrent & ABC), its unable to download.. I think its becuase of the firewall... How do i resolve this..

Any suggesstions.

Have you changed the port used by the Bittorrent software - you must change it from the default (6881) to anything in the range 6882 - 65000 (actually 2^17 - 1). I usually use something like 27542. This will then allow limited connectivity: to get maximum speeds you need to set up forwarding of that port - see www.portforward.com for info.
