Using the --force option in Clonezilla

Hi everyone,

Clonezilla is potentially a valuable tool to have around for backup and restore of all sorts of fiesystems, so I've been trying out a copy off a live CD.

First up, though, a possible bug. The very first time I made a backup with it, using it's rather basic, bioseque GUI, it gave me the option of which volume to backup from my hard drive (as one would expect). However, on every subsequent attempt, no such option has been available and only the *entire* drive is selectable! I've been able to circumvent this by running Clonezilla in console mode and specifying "sda2" as an argument rather than "sda" which was the only choice through the GUI. Odd bug, I thought, since it ran fine first time and is running off a CDROM.

Anyway, next problem was having executed the backup command, I get this error message when Clonezilla calls ntfsclone (sda2 is a Vista partition):

"ERROR: Volume '/dev/sda2' is scheduled for a check or it was shutdown uncleanly. Please boot Windows or use the --force option to progress."

Since this volume is unbootable, I need to --force ntfsclone. I've tried adding "-f" as an additional switch to the six existing ones, but just get a syntax error and the help file won't display properly. Anyone know the correct syntax to force the backup and do the switches have to be in a specific order?

Thanks.
