Unhappy using samba, cups to print to XP on home LAN


NEWBIEE!!!!!!!!!!
i'm using gentoo2.6.11-r6 with KDE3.3...slowly making progress...

ok....i emerged cups and samba and lisa.....whn i go to Control Center - Printers....it gives:

"Unable to retrieve the printer list. Error message received form manager:
connection to CUPS server failed. Check that the CUPS server is correctly installed and running. Error: connection refused."

Samba seems oky ....on my XP machine i can see the folder "homes on Gentoo Linux (RFW)"..but whn i click on it it gives message:

"\\rfw\homes is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server...

The network path was not found."

I feel like i'm almost there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....but not sure wht to do now??????????????

Please help!!!!

whn i run testparm ..this is the output:
