Question Using MySQL database remotely

What I am looking to do is run Tac_plus using a database on another server. I have one server running Tac_plus with a local database, and it works fine. I want a secondary server to use the same database. I have it setup with a copy of the database running on Mysql locally, and it works fine. When I point it to the remote server,

default db = mysql://IP_ADDRESS/tacacs:tac_plus@localhost/tacacs

and use

default authentication = db "mysql://username:encrypted_password@IP_OF_LOCAL_SERVER/tacacs/auth?uid&password"

Tac_plus starts, but devices using it revert to local password as if the server doesnt exist since the device isnt in the list. It appears that the Tac_plus isnt seeing the database.

What am I missing and how can I debug it to see where its failing?

Oh man, now that I posted it and had a chance to look at my post, I realized where I made the mistake.

default db = mysql://IP_ADDRESS/tacacs:tac_plus@localhost/tacacs

Should read

default db = mysql://name of remote server/tacacs:username@local server IP/tacacs

So simple, but missed it.

At least in the future if someone needs it, here it is.
