Using Konsole with Transparent scheme on windowmaker

Hi all,
I'm trying to use the transparent background setting on Konsole(no, not the xterm console) in windowmaker. But in this setting, the background image is not refreshed after the initial startup. So if I move the konsole window around or use some other window and then go back to konsole, the result is absolutely horrible looking window. Moreover in place of normaly typed characters, blank spaces start appearing in the konsole window. So I don't know what I'm typing.
Is it a problem with konsole on windowmaker, or I'm doing something wrong? Konsole used to work fine with this setting on KDE, but that was on Suse. I'm using Mandrake 10.1 now.

not a direct answer, but you should try aterm

its much lighter than konsole and has transperant functionality with the command

aterm -tr
