samba on rh9. I can see contents of shared directories via terminal but w/ konqueror i onlly get empty "folders". I set permissions chmod 700 but even as root I can see no contents w/gui. Any suggestions pointing to my stipidity would be greatly appreciated.

I'm still batteling samba. Going on 2 weeks now. I can see my shares on my samba server (also masquerading an ip address for M$ xp pro client) with command line but using konquerer reveals "empty" folders. I cant access shares with http://192.168.1.1/public nor can i make any sort of samba connetion twith xp client. xp recieves its internet feed from the samba server so it appears the lan is functional. additionally this silly windows mini server/viewer "WINVNC" sees linux with ease. /etc/hosts is set up , netbios names and alias okay and the server is a dns as well.
