Using get_iplayer to download BBC news videos

Since get_iplayer can be used to download not just TV programmes, but radio, podcasts and even live TV streams, is there an option I can use to record/download the short videos that the BBC put on their web pages for news items?

I refer, for example, to something like this:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-21714090

Using the get_iplayer "URL" option with the above URL does not work. The news item's title does not show up in the TV feed for iPlayer. Is there any way I can locate (from the web page's source, for instance) where the BBC have these kind of videos stored, and thereby use get_iplayer to download it?

I can't imagine this has *anything* to do with iPlayer whatsoever. You can load developer tools in Chrome or such like and see whaqt URL's are being grabbed when the videos play easily enough though.

I might be wrong but
I thought the BBC broke iplayer( a few weeks after it was launched) when they went to silverlight

iPlayer is still using Flash (a couple of other broadcasters used Silverlight then changed) but there's also get_iplayer which works by downloading the files meant for iOS devices.
[Netflix are one who recently moved to Silverlight from Flash thus cutting off Linux users and missing out on my money.]

iplayer and silverlight?? No, it's actually against their code of broadcasting to use it, as it locks out Linux. That was why they kept using RealMedia for so so long back in the day, because it was available on all platforms. SKY HAVE TO use Silverlight as Flash doesn't have DRM in it. (I designed the Sky GO server platform, and cramming a pile of W2K VM's into that was sooo painful!)
