user authentication with fedora directory server?

Hello I struck at point and need litter bit help.

I want to configure Fedora Directory Server for user authentication.

I have installed FDS 1.0.4 on RHEL 4. and created user ali under "user and group" tab as given in the manual

http://www.linuxjournal.com/article/9517

and

http://www.linux.com/feature/58731.

Now I have configured the client machine which is RHEL 3 machine to authenticate the user from that FDS server.

for client configuration I used the utility

system-config-authentication which changed the following entries
in /etc/nsswith.conf file

passwd: files ldap
shadow: files ldap
group: files ldap

and in /etc/ldap.conf file

host 192.168.20.105
# The distinguished name of the search base.
base dc=example,dc=com

Here 192.168.20.105 is my FDS server and example.com is my ldap domain

But I am unable to login user name ali at client it gives the following error in /var/log/messages

Oct 31 13:53:00 delta login[2262]: FAILED LOGIN 1 FROM (null) FOR ali, Authentication failure
Oct 31 13:53:01 delta login(pam_unix)[2262]: check pass; user unknown
Oct 31 13:53:04 delta login[2262]: FAILED LOGIN 2 FROM (null) FOR ali, Authentication failure
Oct 31 13:53:38 delta login(pam_unix)[2262]: check pass; user unknown

How can I authenticate user? kindly reply

After vigorous struggle At last I am able to authenticate the user from FDS. Now my next question and problem is that user able to authenticate but it goes to / directory , as there is not home directory for user on the client machine. How can I access or mount the users home directory from server automatically?
