Use my old 56K modem to run SIP Server for voip

Does anyone have any pointers?

Aren't there linux software that can use 56k modems as voicemail servers? That would be a starting point, I suppose.

All the s**t I come across needs fxp-!@(#-knwos who-cares port fxo blah blah who cards.

I'm sure many people would argue wether this is a software or hardware issue.

If I hadnt posted in the hardware section as well, I wouldnt have gotten a reply. The hardware people are more clued up, yet it is in essence, a software issue.

Know of any good VoIP sections?

I have read the guidelines and spent time wondering where to post....

I will report back here with a solution, too...
