use mandrake in Ibm server can't enter xwindows?


The ibm server is netfinity 5000

the install is ok except tell me that the device is not found in configure the Xwindow

An error occurred
(EE) No device detected

but I installed the system under the grafic mode .

What can I do ??? poor English thanks

well... for starters you can tell us what kind of graphics card you have and which version of mandrake you are installing...

the version of mandrake is 9.0
I don't know what the graphics card the server use , but the linux recognise it Trio64V2(generic)

something like that happened to me to i have geforce which is detected as geforce but the default driver did not work btw i did the installation in graphic mode but i had to choose the vide o card as vesa to make it work play around with the card u will find one for your system

if you installed it by graphical interface it asks you which card driver to use during installation choose one then if it did not work start drakconf and choose another one
