Question usb-uhci kernel module won't stay loaded

Fedora Core 1
kernel 2.4.22-1.2115.nptl

I reinstalled the OS, but now the usb-uhci kernel module doesn't load on boot-up. If I run "/sbin/modprobe usb-uhci", it loads and I go on my merry way until I reboot.

Do I need to rebuild the kernel? If so, what would be the menuconfig option (I can't seem to get xconfig to work)?

Thanks all.

you can try and work around that by adding that "/sbin/modprobe usb-uhci" in your /etc/rc/rc.local file.

Since modprobe is a root process, will it execute in rc.local? I've added the command, but haven't rebooted yet to test it. I don't know enough about the rc files to trust adding any customizations to /etc/ files, yet.

TIA,

Guess I answered my own question. Yes, modprobe will execute b/c I just rebooted and the usb-uhci module loaded. Yea for us! There's an affero for you in that answer, megaspaz.
