USB Problem with Kodak CX6230 digital camera at Fedora Core 2 with kernel 2.6.5-1.358

Hello everyone !

I've tried to solve this problem by searching for help in FAQ's, man-pages and how-to's with no result;
At the beginning I have to say that I'm not a Linux expert

I'm trying to download photos fro my digital camera and whatever I do, i see the same error; before connecting camera and turning it on, I execute "tail -f /var/log/messages" to see what happens; everytime it prints me "hub 1-0:1.0: Cannot enable port 2. Maybe the USB cable is bad?" But I'm 100% sure the cable is OK
The strange thing about all of this, is that when I connect my Nokia 5510 at the same port, Linux recognize it as usb mass storage device, and attaches it to scsi device and it works; So, I'm also sure that hub is ok, and ports are ok - the problem must be in software
I've tried to load standard kernel modules, like usb-uhci, I've also configured hotplug, as it was described at gphoto2 page and I receive the same error all the time;
Maybe some of you had the same problem ? Can you please help me ?

I Really appreciate every second that you spend discovering the reason of my problem.

Driver problem most likely

Looks like your camera needs a driver in order to be recognized by linux.

Hard way: do some google searching with your camera model with linux thrown in to the search. Find a driver. Do the whole untar, ./configure etc etc etc. Load driver module (if you're lucky and you don't have to do a kernel compile). Mount your camera, read files off.

Easy way: pick up a 20 dollar usb card reader.

I have a cx6330, it's the moreless the same and works fine.

You need gphoto2 that should be contained in fedora, else compile it from source.

Then you have to use the following commands:

To dl photos:

gphoto2 -P --camera \"Kodak CX6330\" --port usb:

To delete photos in the camera:

gphoto2 -D --camera \"Kodak CX6330\" --port usb:

Change 6330 with 6230, if it doesn't work toggle the backslash.

I don't use a gui.
