usb mousr on Debian
 
After more than six trys at getting Debain (Woodie) to work totally on my system (686). of the options given for mouse drivers, not one seems to be a usb choice . Any ideas on this ?

Thanks for the reply and the info. in turth, all this linux shit looks like more work than I really want, we are loosing sight that this computer is the tool. not the end in itself. I am Apple bound.

I once had the same problem

Have you tried running "modconf" under root? if not, try it and scrolll down the list to the usb part. Go in there and put a + in 3 related modules. "usb ohci" for sis, or "usb uhci" for VIA, and "usbcore" and finally "usbmouse". that oughtta do it. You may need to reconfigure xfree86 after this. Run "xf86config"
