I need it to make linux pick up and be able to use my bt voyager modem. However the rpm archive's files all open as source code in gedit. How do I make them just run?-
ill be nice and say, first, please dont say your question is urgent, important, or anything of that nature.. because it isnt.
ok you downloaded a .rpm file for what you want to install, good. easiest way to install it would be to right-click and select 'install' or something like that, if your distro and package manager supports that.
if not, youll have to use the command line to install the package. however, you havent specified which distribution of linux you use, so i cant help you further.

Well it is/was kind of urgent to me because I had to get up in the morning and wanted to get it done before I went off to bed. Done now though, thanks.
of course you will think its urgent--but dont tell us, we dont care how urgent or not urgent it is... because to us, it isnt.
if you would have titled your thread differently i imagine you would have had more people respond. just a heads up in the future, not trying to be rude.
