Hi All, i'm using mozilla-mail for checking my company important email. The strange case happened last few days.

When i download my new email, suddently all my old email in the inbox disappear. I have check out the inbox size and it changed from original 2GB to become 32 MB only. I have try to seek for it in my Redhat 8.0 ext3 filesystem but can't find it anywhere.

Why can it be happened? is it my inbox size too big or mozilla mail cannot support it?

Please help because it is very important the information insize.

2Gb.. wow
Yeah, it's quite possible Mozilla truncated that and started afresh. Try to post this to the Mozilla development mailing lists. See what they say.

wauw talking of some compression.. heh.. okay, nothing to be funny about.

are you sure the mail is gone, or that mozilla is just not able to handle that size? maybe check the folder in your homedirectory (or did you already did that when you mentioned the size of your inbox,), what size it is?

and.. the million dollar question is.. do you have a backup?

<ObjectLesson>Backups are your friend</ObjectLesson>

Do you have any idea how much free space you had before this happened? If so, and if you determine that you're not seeing any extra space then you may be OK. Have you looked in your .mozilla folder in your /home/<username> directory? (Note the "." preceding mozilla)
