Urgent !!! Monitor resolution problem in Suse 9.2


hellow..
i am a newbie with no hands-on experience on a linux environment
i jus installed suse 9.2
i am having a samsung samtron 56v 15" monitor
and my video card is the one tht comes onboard on an intel 845GLAD motherboard.
Now the problem that i am facin is that my desktop is displayed in resolution 640x480
actually it hasnt identified my monitor,
so i gave it the req data in YAST( refresh rate, physical size etc) but still i cant get the resolution !
i even tried addin 1024x768 and 800x600 resolution in the XF86Config file but then the whole screen started moving horizontally !
currently it is displayin in 640x480 mode with 85 refresh rate !
plzz help me out !!!!
help required asap !

I think you also have to set your horizontal and vertical sync ranges. That worked for me. You can find them in the manual of your monitor. If yast asks for it you can enter it there, if not you have to add them to your /etc/XF86Config file manually.

Don't run YaST, use Sax2.
