Could you post a copy of your /etc/lilo.conf and /boot/grub/menu.lst files. If you don't find a menu.lst file, it might be named grub.conf.

Do as linuxcool said; you don't need (and shouldn't have) two linux bootloaders active at the same time. Which was installed first (or which would you prefer to use), lilo or grub?

BTW- /boot/grub/menu.lst is just a symlink to /boot/grub/grub.conf.

Looking over your post again, I think that you probably have lilo installed in the MBR and grub installed in the boot sector of win2000. Having grub installed in the boot sector of your win2000 partition is not good. You might be able to restore it if the grub install made a copy of the boot sector.

Also, is your partition table correct. I noticed that partitions hda6 and hda7 are listed as type ' c ' which is a win95 type partition, but you have them listed as ' linux '. And is the number ' 256 ' in the hda7 line correct?

1st: don't use grub. use lilo totally and it's easy.
2nd: as u install RH7.2 tell the loader to be on the first sector of the partition and not on the MBR.

3rd: use BOOTmagic from powerquwest for windows. and write the boot to MBR.

the good Linux installation with 2000 is :
1-linux first.
2- 2000 is next.

the good Linux installation with win9x is :
1- win98 1st.
2-linux next.

for faster and flexible gnome gui use RH7.1 distribution of gnome.
