Upgrading to Windows XP pro in laptop with Linux

Hi folks
I have a dual boot laptop with Xin 2000 and mandrake linux 9.2 which is working.
I have to upgrade Win 2000 to Win XP pro. So does it mean I will have tp readjust the partition or install linux again.
Secondly,if i do a clean install, where can I get drivers for my machine like nodem, lan drvers etc. I got this on a separte CD for Win 2000 when I bought the machine.
Thridly, many people recommends upgrading BIOS beforeupgrading XP. I haven't got any clue of doing that. How is that done? ofcourse without spoiling anything.
Thank you so much for the help

I haven't used mandrake so not sure that is it having some rescue mode in it's installation cds or not..
But if it has then install winXP and after installing boot from linux cd .. select linux rescue and issue the follwoing command..
----------------------------
/sbin/grub-install /dev/hda
-----------------------------
It will again make the dual boot as during the install window will over write the MBR..

Secondly if u don't have rescue mode in mendrake then make a bootable linux floppy and after installing the winxp boot to linux from floppy and again issue the above command..
